Carpet Cleaning

It has happened to everyone. They discover that their carpet has gotten especially dirty and they set about getting it as clean as possible. Maybe there was a party that got a little out of hand with drinks being spilled. Maybe some friends were over playing poker and smoking cigars. Maybe it’s just an old carpet that has been around for a long time.

Whatever the case, when the cleaning is done, you can’t help but notice that there is still an odor in the air.

Even after airing out the room and cleaning the furniture and drapes, the odor lingers. At this point, there are two things you can do. You can keep trying to clean it on your own, and always coming up short, or you can call the professionals at All Flood Services.

Carpet is like a Sponge

Carpet fibers work as natural sponges, absorbing the odors of all the dirt, grime, smoke, spilled liquids and other things that come into contact with them. Even if the carpet is vacuumed on a regular basis, the vacuum will only pull up the loose soil and dirt, leaving behind the compounds that have meshed with the fibers. Over time, these fibers will become saturated with these compounds and no amount of standard cleaning will remove them all.

Carpet Cleaning Agents Only Mask the Smell

Many of the carpet cleaning agents sold in stores are designed to only mask the smell and not work their way into the carpet fibers. This is mostly the case because your household cleaning does not have the strength to remove the cleaning agent if it has soaked into the rug.

At All Flood Services, we have a full line of equipment and cleaners designed to take care of the three steps of odor removal:
  • First, we remove any source material we might find that is causing the odor.
  • Secondly, we perform a thorough cleaning of all the affected surfaces and materials
  • Finally, we will treat the surface with protective sealants or other materials that will prevent future odors from settling in.

In some cases, the cause of the carpet odor may be beneath the carpet and in the padding itself. In these situations, our staff is trained to professionally remove the carpet, clean and restore the padding and then replace the carpet so it will look as if it has never been disturbed.

No matter how regularly or thoroughly you clean your carpet on your own, over time and through repeated use, the carpet will sustain damage and retain an odor that can only be eliminated by a professional cleaning company.

All Flood Services is just the company you need to restore your carpets to their original glory.

All Flood Services: Commercial Carpet Cleaning

Not everything that we do at All Flood Services is done in response to an emergency situation. The same tools that we use to help people bounce back from water damage and mold infestations can be used to help protect the investments of your business.

Extend Your Carpet’s Life

One such area of expertise is our commercial carpet cleaning department. We can help extend the length of your carpet’s life by several years, helping you save money in the long run while keeping your business looking good for your customers.

Commercial carpet receives many times the traffic of typical residential carpet. That's why it's important to select commercial carpet that fits a building user's needs instead of choosing a carpet made for home use.

Once that carpet is properly installed, there are two important points of care to follow to keep it looking great, conventional vacuuming and professional commercial carpet cleaning.

The Health of Your Carpet

Conventional vacuuming will remove the dirt and particles that sink into the carpet. These may be brought in by people walking or settle out of the air. Regularly scheduled vacuuming will remove the majority of the offending particles. Over time, however, this cleaning will simply not be deep enough to restore the health of the carpet. Even though it may be a professional grade, the sheer amount of weight and traffic it experiences works against the fabric and wears the carpet down.

Least Disruptive to Your Business

Our team of professionals will arrange a time with you to come clean your carpets when it will be the least disruptive to your business. Once the initial vacuuming has been done to remove heavy soil and other solids, we apply a preconditioning solution to the carpet and then agitate it. This maximizes the contact between the solution and the fibers of the carpet, and helps to loosen the soils that have been ground in.

A hot water rinse is used next to remove both the preconditioning solution and the particulates that the agitation has loosened up. Once that has been finished, we groom the carpet to restore it to its original look and finalize the process by completely drying the carpet. This helps to prevent accidents and removes any possibility for residual moisture to encourage mold growth.

Your “Filter” Needs to be Cleaned

In a sense, your carpet serves as something like a filter, trapping dirt, airborne allergens, dust and mold spores. Without engaging in commercial carpet cleaning on a regular basis, this “filter” will eventually be full and these pollutants will be released in the air.

All Flood Services can provide the commercial carpet cleaning that not only keeps your floors looking beautiful, but also protects the health of your employees and customers.
